You’ll know your special furry friend will be left in safe paws with us. We take extra time to create a bond with your dog throughout their one-to-one grooming experience. Using our extensive knowledge of canine behaviour and psychology, stacks of toys and high-quality treats, we ensure the whole visit is led by your dog and how they feel. If your dog is nervous, worried or has had a bad grooming experience in the past, we will work with them to turn this around using positive behavioural techniques and lots of love and patience.
We take whatever time is needed to make your dog feel safe and happy while we deliver the highest level of care. We strive for every dog to enjoy their time with us, leave with a wagging tail and be happy and excited to return.

Booking your pets pamper
You can book your furry friends pamper online! Or you can call, text or message us on Whatsapp. If you have two or more dogs, please call us to book. Similarly, if your dog would benefit from a more specialised groom, such as if there are especially nervous or agressive, we would be happy to assist but it is best to call us prior to booking so we can develop a further understanding of your pet and their personality.
Introductions
One of our friendly team welcomes you to the spa and we get to know you and your pet. We will go through your requirements for their groom and gain an understanding of your pets personality and their history of grooming. If your pet has more specialised needs, such as being severely nervous, aggressive or a medical condition we will have a more detailed conversation with you to ascertain the best route for your pet and how we can help. Typically, most of these details would have been discussed prior to the groom so please call us if you feel your pet would benefit from our specialised services.

Trust
At pawfectly, your pets happiness and confidence is paramount. Before we begin any pampering, we build a bond with your furry friend. Your pet will start off by having a mooch around the spa and a good sniff. We allow them to come to us in their own time when they are ready. At Pawfectly, we have an overflowing toy basket, tasty treats, a comfy bed and of course endless love & reassurance. We encorporate different types of positive reinforcement that your pet responds to and begin building that ever so important friendship and trust, especially for the more nervous dogs, we understand they may be more aprehensive to approach a stranger.
Pampering
We then pamper your pet. For more details about each groom specificially, please see our services page. Throughout your pets time with us, they are treated like our very own furry companions. We use reassurance, positive reinforcement and gentle handling to ensure your pet feels comfortable. Your pets happiness is our number one priority. We will never make a dog to do something they are not happy with. We focus on rehabilitating and retraining any anxieties they have towards grooming.

Anxious dogs
If your pet has more severe anxiety, towards grooming specifically or by nature, we understand that for them it may be difficult to have a full groom completed in one session in their early days with us at Pawfectly. The same applies for dogs who have unfortunately had a negative experience at a previous groomers. Therefore, if at any point your pet becomes too distressed, has stopped responding or even has just really had enough for that day, rest assured we will not push them through. Instead, we will stop their groom and call you. We then sit quietly, gently offering even more reassurance and love until they head home.
Heading home
Once your pets pamper is complete, we will call you to let you know they are ready to come home. If you would like to be called a certain amount of time prior, such as 20 minutes, please let us know. Whilst we wait, your pet will enjoy a couple more treats and/or play with the toys. Some prefer to have a snooze in the bed after such a tiring pamper! Others prefer to curl up on our lap. We strive for every dog to leave our Spa with a happy smile and wagging tail, the same for when they return.

Honesty
We will also give you honest feedback about how your dog was for their groom. Contrary to most groomers who will hand you the lead followed by ‘they were fine’, we will be honest with you about which parts they are more confident with and which areas are more of a struggle for them so you know what areas we will work on with your pet in future. We believe that all pet parents who entrust us with their special friend should be given honest feedback. Sometimes, dogs who we meet for the first time are bundles of confidence and love every part of it, if so, we will be delighted to tell you this. We understand from having our own pets, it can be a bit daunting leaving them with someone new for the first time. Here at Pawfectly, we treat your pet like our very own and you can be assured they are in safe hands.
